Taylor-Montgomery will hold virtual meeting for air permit

Taylor Holding Group LTD., and its co-permittee Taylor-Montgomery, LLC., will be holding a virtual meeting on October 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. regarding its application for a Title V Air Permit, which would go towards its current processing plant and planned biomass gasification facility located at 350 Neely Road in Montgomery.

Taylor is a construction recycling company that provides services to several counties in the Hudson Valley, including Orange and Ulster County. The Taylor Processing Facility, located in Montgomery, specializes in recycling construction and demolition debris, producing mulch and topsoil and demolishing old buildings. The company’s newest project, the biomass gasification facility, will convert debris and solid waste into a synthesized gas that will be used as an energy source.

Before Taylor can move forward with its biomass facility, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation requested that the company apply for a Title V Air Permit. If approved, it would allow Taylor to convert processed biomass feedstock into a synthesized gas and use it to produce electricity for the Central Hudson Gas & Electric grid and its substation.

During the virtual meeting, participants can speak with Taylor representatives, ask questions about the permit process, learn more about its facilities and provide input. The company encourages everyone to submit comments to them.

The meeting will be accessible on Zoom using the meeting ID “825 6660 6861” and password “718758.”
