Thomas Mareo Wutch

Posted

My husband, Tom left this world on October 13, 2022, leaving a hole in my heart and an empty place by my side. Born August 14, 1946, Tom was the son of Michael J. Wutch and Catherine Meore Wutch Dolloway. Tom was the hardest working man I have known; he stubbornly refused most offers of help but would readily volunteer to help everyone in any way he could. He had great patience, if someone or something did not work out, he would try again and again, failure was not in his vocabulary. Tom was a quiet gentle person with a wicked sense of humor which he showed when you least expected it. Tom worked over fifty years as a plant manager for the container industry, retired and then opened his own business which he operated for another twelve years. Tom’s education did not end with college but continued while he learned the ins and outs of whatever interested him. Very good at most sports and games, Tom enjoyed winning over anyone that dared take him on. Tom never lost his love for cars and spoke often of his 66 Pontiac GTO and 72 Barracuda. Over the last few years, he was looking for an aged Dodge Challenger that, with the help of his son Brian, he hoped to fix up. Tom leaves behind his wife of forty-nine, years Karen Baker Wutch, his son Thomas Brian Wutch (Georgia), daughter-in-law Laura Wutch-Tomoser (Jeff), grandson Anthony Michael Wutch (Karlee), great granddaughter Rayleigh Estelle, great grandson Bellamy Thomas, granddaughter Kayla Mirella Wutch (Nick) great grandson Mason Hunter, his brothers John, Michael and Richard Wutch, his many nieces and nephews. Tom especially enjoyed the relationships he had over the years with his nieces Kelli, Brianne, Lauren (Michael) and nephews Sean and Jason. Lastly, he will be sorely missed by his pups Benny and Cody. He was predeceased by his sister Barbara Wutch Clark. A very special thank you to Terri and Larry Bowman, Penny and Frank Reynolds, friends and family at Hudson Valley Decorative Painters and the Orange County Office for the Aging. All your help was sincerely appreciated and allowed Tom to face his illness with the dignity and grace he deserved.  A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at 10 a.m., at the Chapel of the Holy Name “The Stone Church” 280 Henry Road, Cragsmoor. Memorial contributions may be made in Tom’s name to the Walden ASPCA Humane Society, 2489 Albany Post Rd., Walden, NY 12586.
