Valley Central band brings farmers’ market to life

The Town of Montgomery Farmers Market was injected with some youth last Tuesday, as Publicity Stunt rocked the house.

The band is made up of four Valley Central High School students: junior Allison Conero on vocals, senior Matt Walker on guitar, freshman Eric Conero on drums and junior Cam Longo on bass guitar. They played a mix of songs including “Welcome to Paradise” by Green Day and “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac.

They generally play punk rock music, drawing influence from Paramore, Green Day and Tool. This was the band’s first concert, as they recently formed in June.

“I told them you gotta play something,” Kevin Conero told his children Eric and Allison. “I regret not learning something.”

After their formation, the band began practicing. Guitarist Matt Walker reached out to Randi Greene about performing at the farmers market and the band’s first official gig was booked.

Moving forward, the group hopes to begin writing and performing their own songs. They practice together 2-3 times a week and continue to improve.

“[I hope] that we play some good music for people all around our area,” Walker said.
