Volunteers needed for Weekend of Wallkill

Vision of Wallkill’s annual Weekend of Wallkill community event is happening soon (September 22 and 23). It’s a large undertaking for our group and getting bigger and better every year and we are looking for volunteers who are available on Saturday, September 23.

We are hosting an informational meeting on Thursday, August 31, 7 p.m. in the Community Room at the Shawangunk Town Hall to talk about the events at Weekend of Wallkill, which runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. We need help with setup and breakdown, monitoring and assisting with the various contests, assisting with children at the bouncy house and pony rides and more. Set up begins about 8 a.m. and breakdown/cleanup is usually done by 4 p.m.

This is also a great opportunity for students that need community service hours. Did you know that VOW offers scholarship awards to graduating Seniors that have worked VOW events for community service hours?

Bring a friend, or your student to our info session. We would appreciate knowing if you can join us on August 31. Or if you can’t make the info session, but can help on September 23, please call/text: 845-527-6230.
