Kelly A. Kelly, the Village of Walden’s treasurer, and Robert Werner, a sergeant of the Walden police department, announced several new hires during the village’s December 5 meeting, including an applicant to fill both the deputy clerk and deputy treasurer, three police officers, and four police dispatchers.

Christine Sciurca, a member of Walden ZBA, became the village’s new deputy clerk and deputy treasurer. Some of Sciuria’s experiences include extensive paralegal knowledge and her time on the ZBA.

“We are pleased to welcome Christine as the village treasurer clerk. She comes to us with 26 years of paralegal and business experience, she’s been a village resident since 2007, and she’s been a member of the village zoning board for the last five years,” said Kelly. “We are so happy for her to join us in the office.”

Sergeant Werner announced that the police department hired Shawn McPhillips and Jordan Mauro as part-time officers, Nikolas Dilles for a full-time officer position and four part-time dispatchers: Gennine Forese, Brock Morrison, Joseph Tuner and Taylor Allen.
