Walden Rotary Club members send “Happy Birthday” greetings to Rebecca Cannon who celebrated her special day on April 14. We wish Rebecca all life’s best.

A large group of volunteers met at the Walden Community Council meeting on April 10 at the Josephine Louise Public Library to continue with plans for Walden’s 37th Annual Harvest Festival on September 28, 2024. This event will return to Walden’s Municipal Square. You will find entertainment by live music, great vendors, food, Angry Orchard, frog jumping contest, Orange County Sheriff’s Office Child ID, free petting zoo, bounce houses for kids and more. The Village of Walden Yard sale is scheduled for Saturday, April 20, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. A great time to find many treasures.

Please have your household bulk items curbside on Sunday, April 21, 2024. Trucks will be going through our village from April 22 - April 26, 2024 with all items picked up by Friday, April 26.

Join the Walden Community Council on Saturday, April 20, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the John Howland Youth Center, 89 East Main Street, Walden for their annual Spring Bazaar. Many vendors! Nancy Vance, Recording Secretary of the Walden Baptist Church sends word that on Saturday, April 20, 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., there will be a $3 gently used clothing bag sale at the Walden Baptist Church, 38 Bank Street, Walden. There is extra parking behind the church.

On Sunday, April 21, 2 p.m. in the Bradley Room of the Walden Municipal Building the Historical Society of Walden & Wallkill Valley will present a talk by Mary Ellen Matise, Town of Montgomery Historian on “The Palatine migration to the Town of Montgomery.”

Mary Ellen has been researching the Palatines the past two years. Her talk will describe how the Palatines came to the Hudson Valley and how they settled in the Town of Montgomery in the early 1720s. This is a free event and open to the public.All are welcome to attend.

In the Catholic faith, the month of April is dedicated to the Holy Eucharist. At the April 25 meeting of Catholic Conversations, the topic of discussion will be our belief in the Real Presence of Our Lord Jesus Christ, in the Holy Eucharist.

On Saturday, April 27, 12 - 4 p.m. celebrate Spring at Fox Hill Bruderhof at their Coleman Corners Farmstand. Check out their almost finished coffee bus, buy your favorite Bruderhof pastries and even find the perfect Mother’s Day gift.

Many unique, beautiful crafts, home baked bread and muffins and pastries for all to enjoy. Not to be missed.

MPB School, 180 Ulster Avenue, Walden will hold a Spring Bingo and Tricky Tray event on Saturday, May 4,. Doors open at 5 p.m. Bingo starts at 6 p.m. Great Bingo prizes including designer handbags, gift cards, baskets and more.

Baby Rhyme Time registration has started. Sessions with Miss Julie will be held Thursday mornings through the month of May, 10:30 a.m. for infants through 3 years.

The library’s Random Reads book club will meet on Tuesday, April 16, 6:30 p.m.
Learn how to make Fondant Roses for your cakes or pastries with Sharon Corallo on Thursday, April 18, 6:30 p.m. Please register ahead of time by calling the library at (845) 778-7621.

All materials will be supplied.

Spring Story Time sessions will begin with Miss Beth on Tuesday, April 23, 10:30 a.m., for ages 3 - 5. Please make sure to register ahead of time.

The Kids Book Club for ages 9 and up will meet on Thursday, April 25, at 4:30 to discuss Sharon Draper’s book “Out of My Mind”.

The Walden Chess Club will meet on Saturday, April 20, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Dungeons and Dragons for Teens will meet on the same day 2 - 5 p.m.
Don’t forget to join us for “Fondant Roses” with Sharon Corallo on Thursday, April 18, 6:30 p.m.

Participants will learn how to make fondant roses, which can be used to decorate baked treats!

Family Musical Movie is scheduled for Wednesday, April 24, 5:30 p.m. and will feature “Shrek: The Musical”.
