The monthly Orange County American Legion Meeting was hosted by the Highland Falls-West Point American Legion Auxiliary #633 on September 13. Guest speaker was Harriman Commander Chris Holshek who shared youth development opportunities including Boys’ and Girls’ State, Hudson Valley Honor Flight Youth Guardians and Service -learning seminars, support to Volunteer Fairs, JROTC, oratorial contests and scholarships. Orange County Auxiliary secretary Becky Olah presided over the meeting with special guests Unionville Post 1607 Commander Art Olah, Unionville Post 1607’s John Clausen, and Orange County Commander Earl Demberg. Refreshments were provided by ALA members Gail Smerick, Bobbie Fallon, Ann Molina and Highland Falls Commander John Flynn. ALA member Charlie Murphy-Dodson won the 50/50 raffle at the meeting. The next county meeting will be held, Wednesday, October 9, Newburgh.
