Decker, Geysen exhibit their work at Leo’s in Cornwall

The Cornwall Highlands Arts Alliance is pleased to announce that two Cornwall artists – Jen Decker and George Geysen will be exhibiting their creative work at Leo’s Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria in Cornwall. Their work will be on exhibit and for sale from September 21 to November 16.

Jen Decker is a mixed media artist who shares her time between the Hudson Valley and Cape Cod, MA.

Throughout her artistic process, she is deeply connected to the paints and surfaces allowing her to create art that is unique and beautiful. Jen’s work continues to evolve from her passion to paint abstract organic designs while watching the colors on the paper blend into unexpected beauty. While observing her art, allow yourself to be lost for a moment within that space.
The writer and poet Thomas Merton stated: “Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.” Jen’s hope is to share this experience with you, if only for a moment in time.

George Geysen started painting and crafting in his early 70s after his wife passed away. His whimsical wood assemblages are created from reclaimed wood and common objects.

Reflecting on his new-found life as an artist, he comments, “I started painting as much for socialization as for art. Thankfully the art community is full of wonderful people that are very generous with knowledge, advice and friendship. I make all my own frames and crafts with wood I either find or have left over from another project. I throw nothing away. I hope people enjoy my art as much as I enjoy making it.”
