Do you remember “Joe’s Barber Shop”? It was right next to a little jewelry store at the very beginning of “Downtown Highland Falls”. I had my first haircut (up on a bolster seat) by Mr. Grimaldi; at a very young age. I also recall his shop suddenly closing in the late 1950’s. It was rumored around town, that his relative, Prince Rainier of Monaco, had, after visiting West Point, asked Joe to “Come back home to the little Principality”.... He promptly closed shop, and did just that.

If I may be excused; it’s just my endlessly active mind, recalling every little thing that was special about our little 1950’s “Happy Days” village. (The preceding sentence would be deemed “extreme run-on” by my English teacher “Dot” Keefe.)

I hope all is well in HF. I send my love. I’m .... way up in Albany working on completing my 80th year.
