Is your local organization looking for volunteers? O’Neill High School has students who are ready to help.

On Friday, September 27, the school will host its 3rd annual Volunteer Fair and they are looking to have representatives from any organization present.

“The Volunteer Fair is designed to encourage our high school students to become civically involved and help organizations in our community to better serve the community,” School Counselor KelleyAnne Lonergan, who coordinates the event, said. “Our goal for this event is to help students see the value in volunteering, and to help your organization in finding new, dedicated, and hard-working youth volunteers.”

She said the fair will give organizations a chance to speak with students about the important work that their organizations do in the community as well as recruit them to help with that work. The event is from 8 a.m.-2 p.m., at the high school.

“We will provide a table, refreshments and dozens of high school students who are eager to engage with you about the volunteer opportunities you have available to them,” Lonergan said. “You can bring flyers, information on your organization, giveaways (encourages participation!), pens or pencils, a sign-up sheet etc.”

To participate, contact Lonergan at kelleyanne.lonergan@hffmcsd.org by Friday, September 20.
