Don’t expect to see Rt. 218 over Storm King Mountain open before spring 2027.

Answering an inquiry on social media last week, Cornwall Supervisor Josh Wojehowksi said he has been told by the NYS Department of Transportation the following: While the wall repair (damaged in an accident in the summer) is almost complete, additional work is needed to fix culverts and drainage, and additional maintenance work needs to happen before the road can be reopened. The road will remain closed through the spring.
