Annual Blue Mass to be held September 13

Knights of Columbus, Msgr. Henry O’Carroll Council 444 is proud to announce their Annual Blue Mass & Special Memorial Mass.

At this Mass, we will honor Police, Fire and Emergency Management Services. We will also pay special tribute to those who perished as a result of the September 11, 2001 attacks and to those Police, Fire and EMS First Responders who have lost their lives in the Line of Duty, to be held on Sunday, September 13, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Patrick’s Church, Newburgh.

Greg Gaetano, stated, “Please join us in recognizing the dedicated work of all of our First Responders in the Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services field. This memorial mass will pay Special Recognition and Thanks to all who have served and made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities.” For more information contact Greg Gaetano at 845-629-2722.

Knights of Columbus, Msgr. Henry O’Carroll Council 444, Installation of Officers was held on August 18, at Sacred Heart Church, with their new Chaplain, Father Omachi Michael, presiding at the 6 p.m. Mass.

Following Mass, the Officers for the 2026 - 2027 Columbian Year were installed into their positions within the Council. The District Deputy, Worthy James Banville, presided over the Ceremony.

Knights of Columbus Day Ball will honor Council 444 Knight of the Year Deacon Thomas Neppl, and Family of the Year, The Deacon Peter Haight Family, on October 11, at La Casa Vicina, 1015 Little Britain Road, New Windsor, NY, from 5 -10 PM. Cost is $65 Per Person- Pre- Paid, for a Sit - Down Dinner-Dancing-Cash Bar-Door Prizes. Please RSVP by September 30, to Bill Kuntz, 201-697-9920.

Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Patricia 195 collected school supplies this August, for the Deacon Jack Seymour Food Pantry that are distributed to those clients with school-aged children. They are very generous in their donations, helping less fortunate children begin the school year with the essential tools important to learning. Regent Elaine DeCrosta stated, “Catholic Daughters live in the truth that God blesses a cheerful giver.”

The Newburgh Free Library’s Town Branch will hold its Tuesday at Two Book Discussion, from 2 to 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 20. Participants will enjoy “Magpie Murders,” by Anthony Horowitz. Join librarian Patty Sussmann for an exciting book discussion at the Town Branch location, 181 South Plank Rd.
