Not that anyone is asking, but here is my take on the situation. I would vote for anyone running against Trump, absolutely anyone.

I would certainly vote for Biden if he is the nominee. I am aware that a president is only as good as the people he or she selects to work around him or her. Biden is far more than a single man, he is an entire administration of competent people who make things happen. And I would wish for this competence to continue for the next four years and dread the potential for the total evil and incompetence that awaits us if trump wins.

But….American campaigns are all about perception. The perception of Biden is awful. He cannot overcome that. The democrats, in their loyalty to him, have a death wish. Running Biden is an extinction event for the party and for the country. It’s time to get ruthless in the name of saving our democracy. Stop walking blindly into the path of the buzz saw in the hope that it will all work out. Hope is not a plan, face the reality on the ground. In a time of unprecedented daily events do the unprecedented. Go for it. There are many coherent, sharp, articulate Democrats who could easily put trump in his place and respond effectively to his stream of lies. Folks would flock to a new candidate with deep relief and renewed hope. Stop holding back in the name of decorum or we will lose everything.
