Nancy Pullar Summer Concert Series lineup set in New Windsor
 The Town of New Windsor Recreation Department has unveiled its lineup for the Nancy Pullar Summer Concert Series, promising eight weeks of musical entertainment starting June 26.
Concerts will be held every Wednesday evening from 7  to 8:30 p.m. on the lawn of New Windsor Town Hall at 555 Union Avenue. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
 
In case of rain, performances will be rescheduled for the following night.
The schedule is as follows:
• June 26: Hillbilly Parade
• July 3: The Saints
• July 10: OC5
• July 17: Ladies of the 80’s
• July 24: Lucky House
• July 31: Hi 5 Band
• August 7: Hurley Mountain Highway
• August 14: The Hype

New Windsor to host Friday night movies in the park
The Town of New Windsor invites residents to its Friday Night Flix: Movies in the Park series this summer. Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to Kristi Babcock Memorial Park for an evening of entertainment. Refreshments will be available at the concession stand, and movies will be shown on a large screen.
 
The series will take place on three Friday nights at dusk: June 28 at 8:30 p.m., July 26 at 8:30 p.m., and August 16 at 8 p.m. 
 
  The park is located at 660 Mt. Airy Road, New Windsor,.

4-year-old’s lemonade stand to benefit Town of Newburgh Police
    Four-year-old Ashton is learning to make and save money with his lemonade stand, “Freshly Squeezed.” Ashton has committed to donating 10 percent of his earnings to buy treats for the Newburgh Town Police Department on his Act of Kindness Day.
 
   The lemonade stand will operate from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, at 127 Rock Cut Road, Newburgh. Customers are encouraged to bring cash as it is a cash-only event.
 
Farmers Market open Thursdays in New Windsor
 Residents of New Windsor can now enjoy fresh produce and local crafts at the Town’s Farmers Market, open every Thursday until October 31.
 
Located at New Windsor Town Hall on 555 Union Ave, the market runs from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, offering a variety of fruits, vegetables, flowers, pies, bread, jams, and crafts.

Frozen Ropes presents a baseball and softball camp in New Windsor
  The Town of New Windsor Recreation Department announces the arrival of Frozen Ropes Baseball & Softball Summer Camps, designed for ages 7 to 14.
 
  From July 22 -26, participants can engage in instructional sessions and supervised gameplay, tailored to different age groups and skill levels. The camp runs from 9 a.m. 3 p.m. daily at Kristi Babcock Memorial Park, located at 660 Mt. Airy Road, New Windsor.
  Registration is available online at frozenropes.com/chester/camps or by phone at 845-469-9507. The cost to participate is $225.

Local companies bring home prizes from HVFA parade
 The Hudson Valley Volunteer Firefighter’s Association Parade, held on June 22 in Saugerties, celebrated the dedication and spirit of local fire departments with a series of awards recognizing standout participants. 
 
   The event featured a variety of categories highlighting the best in apparatus, units, and auxiliary groups.
  Local winners included the following :
• Best Appearing Auxiliary (1st Place): Cronomer Valley
• Most in Line of March - Auxiliary: Cronomer Valley
• Best Appearing Fire Unit (Bloused Uniform, 20-26 in Line, 2nd Place): New Windsor
• Best Overall Auxiliary Unit: Winona Lake
 
Summer Adventure begins at the Cornwall Public Library 
 The Cornwall Public Library’s 2024 Summer Reading Program, “Adventure Begins at Your Library,” kicks off on July 1 with a performance by the ever-entertaining Jester Jim at 6:30 p.m. Registration for the Summer Reading Program, both online and in-person, starts on June 24. 
 
Celebrate the start of summer and the Summer Reading Program sign-ups. We provide the chalk and the sidewalk; you bring the imagination. Library staff will be available to assist both children and adults in signing up for the Summer Reading Program.
The library will also host a special teen kick-off event for those entering Grades 6-12, called “Sundaes & Summer Sign-Up,” at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2. Teens are invited to bring their friends for an afternoon of sweet treats and fun activities while registering for the Summer Reading Program.
 
The Summer Reading Program features reading logs and game boards for all ages, offering fun at-home challenges to exercise your reading skills and stretch your creative powers. Additionally, there are events all summer long for children, including Dog Tales, Book Groups, Yoga, and LEGO Family Build-It sessions, among many others. Teens can enjoy Teen Trivia or participate in our Teen Photography Contest. Don’t miss out on other exciting programs such as PJ Story Times, Market Story Times, the Two By Two Animal Haven Hands-On Animal Program, and the Family Puzzle Challenge.
