Attack on Fauci

Posted

There is an old saying: “No good deed goes unpunished.”  That thought came to me when I saw doctor Anthony Fauci brutally attacked by those who should know better, United States Senators.  One even infantilely cursed at him using the infamous F word.

My wife and I both owe our lives to him.  His efforts to have a vaccine produced for the covid19 germ and the organizing efforts of President Biden enabled us to get the vaccine.  We both, in our 80s, came down with the disease but, since we had the vaccine, it was no worse than a head cold.  The president previous to Biden had not a clue what to do.  He said the disease was not dangerous as thousands were dying of it.  He said the vaccine was not necessary and thousands who took his advice died.  He, himself, also nearly died of the disease.  The strenuous efforts of military doctors saved his life.

But since he and Dr. Fauci differed on the seriousness of the disease, that president let his followers know his displeasure and they faithfully turned on Dr. Fauci.  Thus the truly nutty and nasty Senate “hearing.”  One of the things the attackers used was his idea of how the covid19 came to infect human beings.  One idea was that it escaped from a Chinese laboratory, the idea that president and his followers preferred.  The other idea was that it escaped from dogs to humans in China.

Dr. Fauci said he wasn’t sure but most suspected the dog theory.  Frankly, that’s a political issue.  Dr. Fauci was more concerned with the medical issue, how to deal with a pandemic threatening the people of our country.  That president and his followers claim that Fauci’s poor efforts made the death rate of our country the worst in the world.  The highest we rank is 13th.  It is not that high because of Fauci’s lack of effort.  It is because of a certain president and his followers belief that the pandemic was not all that bad, not Dr. Fauci’s strenuous efforts to combat the disease.
