The Town of Newburgh reports bear sightings and a “close encounter” at Chadwick Lake Park and surronding areas.
The town warns residents to be extra vigilant of wildlife while walking the trail and visiting the park. Visitors are urged to use caution while walking, carry a bell, make noise and stay alert.
Bear sightings should be reported to the park guard at 845-564-0608.
