City seeks grant for bridge work

The Newburgh City Council has given the city manager the green light to apply for and accept a grant in the amount not to exceed $5 million with a five percent local match. This grant would go towards the rehabilitation of the Little Britain Road Bridge over the Quassaick Creek in the city.

City Engineer Jason Morris said the bridge has been found structurally deficient and had been red-flagged by the New York State Department of Transportation. It is located along Little Britain Road between Cerone Place and Washington Terrace.
