City sets Halloween curfew

Newburgh City Council approved to set the Halloween Curfew city-wide for minors 16 years of age and under beginning October 30, 2023 at 9 p.m. and ending November 1, 2023 at 6 a.m. “This is to address any juvenile disorder and keep them safe, keep the families safe,” said Police Chief Anthony Geraci. Geraci reassured the council that the curfew notice will be shared across their social media platforms and a notice from the city executive office would be dispersed for the community to be made aware of the curfew.

The resolution for the curfew is a proposed curfew every year, recommended by the police department. The city trunk or treat celebration, typically held out in front of City Hall at 83 Broadway, will take place on Tuesday, October 31 from 6 to 8 p.m.
