On Saturday, November 15, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Walkway Over the Hudson will host its Community Gardening Day, inviting volunteers to help prepare the gardens for winter.
Participants will work on both the Poughkeepsie and Highland sides of the Walkway, tackling tasks such as deadheading, raking, and general cleanup to protect and maintain these scenic public spaces through the colder months.
This event offers a great opportunity to earn volunteer hours, meet fellow community members, and enjoy the outdoors while making a meaningful contribution to a New York State Park.
No gardening experience is required, tools and gloves will be provided, though volunteers are welcome to bring their own.
To register, call (845) 454-9649, ext. 4, and provide your name, email, phone number, and group size if applicable.
Open to high school and college students, families, and community members of all ages.
