Contract OK’d for a new bridge

The Newburgh City Council approved the city manager to execute a contract with Hudson Valley Engineering Associates, P.C. This contract, in the amount of $460,431.11 would be for the design, right-of-way survey and construction of the Little Britain Road Bridge over the Quassaick Creek.

“This bridge has been red flagged by the New York State Department of Transportation for structural deficiencies. This bridge has been progressively flagged for increasingly worse conditions over the past few years. It’s gotten to the point where the city needs to take action. This will start the design process for the replacement bridge,” said City Engineer Jason Morris at the July 18 work session.
