Douglas M. Richards, of Warwick, formerly of Newburgh, entered into rest on Saturday, October 2, 2021. He was 74.

Son of the late William J. and Jessie (Matthews) Richards, he was born September 14, 1947 in Derby, CT. 

Douglas was a retired grocery store clerk working in Shoprite, Newburgh. Douglas was a longtime area resident and was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy. He was very involved with the Grace United Methodist Church, where he was a member of their Disciples Club and Warwick United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School at both. Douglas loved to take very long walks and his crossword puzzles.

Survivors include his sister in law, Constance Richards of Goshen and his niece, Amanda Richards, of Goshen.

In addition to his parents he is predeceased by a brother, Gary Lee Richards in 1997 and his step father Benjamin Davis.

Private cremation has taken place at Cedar Hill Crematory.

Memorial Visitation will take place Monday, October 18, 2021 from 3 to 5 m at 188 N. Plank Road, Newburgh, NY 12550.

A Funeral Service will take place 5 pm at the Funeral Home.

Private Burial will take place at Tappan Reformed Church Cemetery at a later date.
