Two area supermarkets have selected Meals on Wheels of Greater Newburgh as their December beneficiary of programs to fight hunger.

At Stop & Shop on Route 300 in the Town of Newburgh, $1 from the purchase of every specially marked $10.99 “Bloomin’ 4 Good” bouquet of flowers will go to Meals on Wheels.

Hannaford Supermarket in Vails Gate will donate $1 from the purchase of every $2.50 reusable Fight Hunger Bag if directed by the customer at the Giving Tag attached to the bag.

Since 1972, Meals on Wheels has delivered hot, nutritious, noontime meals to residents of Newburgh and New Windsor who are confined to their homes and unable to adequately provide their own meals due to age, illness, injury or disability.
