Already the days are noticeably much shorter than I care to see, reminding us that nothing ever stays the same, and each season brings its unique gifts to share. If you listen, the familiar tune of school bells ringing and reminding us that Memorial Day and picnics and beach fun are now cherished memories, so graciously say goodbye to summer with a last blast barbecue on Labor Day. Let us cheerfully welcome the colorful fall season of new beginnings, as we shake the sand from flip-flops for the pricey attractive foot-wear marching back to school.

It’s an exciting time for boys and girls to meet up with best old friends or enjoy wonderful new friendships, and always our favorite teachers who continue taking new college courses, as they anticipate the fascinating challenges on the academic and social scenes. Let us pray that God bless and keep safe all our precious children and their dedicated teachers, who have been given the loving vocation to nourish their minds and souls, to make healthy choices and to have a happy successful year.

Gardnertown Leadership Academy (GLA) PTO is having a Back to School BASH, on Friday, September 11, from 6–8 p.m. (Rain date is Sept. 18.)

Cronomer Valley Fire Department is hosting a Dinner Fundraiser Game Show on Saturday, October 10, at 296 North Plank Road, Newburgh.
