Groove Phi Groove Social Fellowship Incorporated has been operating in the Orange County area since July 29, 2018. As of April, the group had completed 200 community service initiatives.

The organization was founded in October 1962 at Morgan State College, today known as Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. Its purpose is to promote and nurture unity, address social issues and promote academic awareness amongst all. The organization has members in various undergraduate and graduate chapters throughout the United States.

In the City of Newburgh, Groove Phi Groove members have hosted several basketball tournaments at St. Mary’s Gym during Black History month and have participated in community build projects with Habitat Newburgh. Other events throughout the year include serving seniors at Burton Towers, distributing turkey meals for the Thanksgiving holiday with the Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club and participating in the Safe Harbors Marathon. The organization has participated in Christmas extravaganza in middle schools and marched in Harlem week parades. In the coming months, the group will be looking to pass out scholarships in the coming days.
