The Newburgh Town Board will hold a hearing on August 18 at 1 p.m. to review the current status of the former Holiday Inn at 90 NY-17K. On Monday, July 25 during the work session, the town board discussed the site in question, now known as Hudson Valley Hotel and Conference Center by Fairbridge, which features several two story structures.

The town board has received an inspection report on the current site however reports of non-visible structure repairs and unwanted entry have raised concerns from the town. The town board, under the review and criteria of Chapter 75 of the town code titled “Buildings, Unsafe” will deem if the building is unsafe on August 18.

The structure was originally a Holiday Inn and later a Clarion Hotel before its owners declared bankruptcy in 2012. The Hudson Valley Hotel & Conference Center came into financial trouble in 2009, according to its bankruptcy papers. The recession diminished the business’ revenue, and the hotel lost its brand-name flag.
