It’s Time to Put Your Town First

Posted

As a lifelong resident, a longtime community volunteer working to educate residents on their rights, I’m running for Town Clerk, because I believe you deserve a Town Clerk that is accessible, responsive and focused on the people it serves.

I’ve spent my life here. I know the people and families who make this community home and I believe public service is a responsibility not a privilege.

As Town Clerk, my plan is straightforward: make local government easier for you to access and understand. I want to improve communication with residents, update and modernize our website and expand to having some weekend and evening hours so you don’t have to take time off work to do business with the town.

But this election is about more than just one office.

I’m asking every voter in the Town of Newburgh, Democrat, Republican, Conservative, Working Families Party, independent and everyone in between, to take a step back from party labels and take an honest look at what is happening in your town. Look at the traffic. Look at the continued overdevelopment. Look at the warehouses. Look at the Flock Cameras. Look at how often you have had a say or were notified about in any of these.

Ask yourself: Is this the direction I want my town to continue going in?

I am a Democrat, and proud of that. But before I am a Democrat, I am a Town of Newburgh resident. I care about what happens here because it’s my home.

This election should not be about voting for someone because of the letter next to their name. I’m asking voters to look at the candidates, look at the issues, look at where your tax dollars go, look at their plans for the future of your town, and choose who you believe will listen, communicate, work hard, and put your community first.

I respectfully ask for your vote for Town Clerk.
