Newburgh City Council approved the Lake Street Bridge Supplemental Agreement No. 1 with the New York State Department of Transportation on Monday, September 8. This agreement will allow the city to receive $2.25 million in funding that will go towards the bridge project.

During the work session last week, City Engineer Jason Morris stated to the city council that the Lake Street Bridge should be completed by December 2022. Morris stated to the council that the road will be closed at some point to install new sewer and water main infrastructure. Notices on the road closure and traffic pattern changes will be sent out at a later date.
