Lisa Kaul for Senate

Climate change is an immediate, rapidly accelerating threat that is negatively impacting the environment and people all over the world. The Hudson Valley is no exception. Small and large communities in our area are currently facing extreme weather, pollution, and rising costs of everyday utilities. We need a representative who will fight to implement real and tangible solutions to the intertwined climate and affordability crises, like the Hudson Valley Power Authority that would turn Central Hudson into a public utility. We need someone who isn’t afraid to hold corporations accountable if they are increasing utility prices for their own gain and not actively trying to implement measures for a cleaner and greener environment, like Central Hudson has been for years.

For this November mid-term election, I am supporting Lisa Kaul for New York State Senate in District 39. I strongly encourage all Dutchess & Orange County residents who want climate solutions to join me. Not only because Lisa is an advocate for these very issues, but because she has already delivered on addressing them. She wrote and passed legislation (“Skip the Stuff”) that allows businesses to provide plastic single-use utensils only to customers who specifically request it, helping to reduce unnecessary plastic waste. She has also secured funds in the county budget to develop a solid waste management study, expanded local recycling infrastructure, and helped launch a community repair cafe, a grassroots community space where volunteers help neighbors fix broken household items to keep them out of landfills. For Lisa Kaul, these steps are just the beginning of everything she wants to accomplish to combat climate change and improve the overall environment—not for just the Hudson Valley or New York, but for all.
