Local business organizes fundraiser for family after their home destroyed in fire

The Princess Manor and Once Upon A Tea Party of New Windsor, both owned by Nicole DeVito, have reached out over the past week or so to their communities and supporters to help provide financial support for the Dvorak family of Hopewell Junction who lost their home in a blaze.

According to DeVito, she came to know the Dvorak family after she had hired the daughter of the family over a year ago. The daughter works for the company as a performer and DeVito described her as “a very talented actress and singer”. Any donations for the family can be made to a PayPal account with the username @onceuponateaparty; and as of Saturday, December 30, $280 in donations have been collected.

Additional help has also come from a GoFundMe page for the family set up and established by a family friend. According to the page, the fire took place at 1 a.m. on December 26 on the front porch of the house. The family made it out of the house safely as the fire spread. The Dvoraks declined to comment on their situation.

A donation goal of $25,000 was set for the GoFundMe page and has already exceeded the amount. As of Tuesday, January 2 the page has raised $46,647 for the family.
