The Town of Newburgh Planning Board voted to set a public hearing for October 19 for the Matrix I-84 Warehouse project located along Route 17K. The planning board also approved Part II of the Environmental Assessment Form (EAF) read into the record and issued a negative declaration for the overall project going forward.

The proposed project is a new warehouse proposed along Route 17K. It was proposed to be a constructed 595,900 square foot warehouse. The warehouse may accommodate one tenant or two tenants if that was proposed. A warehouse tenant had not been identified in previous reports. Several projects before the planning board have proposed new warehouses though not having an immediate tenant.

Several weeks ago, the planning board had established itself lead agency and had circulated the plan to the Orange County Planning Department following that meeting. The project applicant has noted to the planning board that 30 inch high entrance walls, emergency access routes have been paved, additional electric vehicle charging stations have been installed and landscaping has been addressed.
