The New Windsor Police Department will be welcoming a new K-9 to the department who will be trained in explosive detection. The new dog will be entering training on September 19.
According to Town Supervisor George Meyers, the cost for a new K-9 was in the amount of $8-10,000. Prior to the work session that night, Meyers informed the town board and public watching that the town has received a grant in the amount of $7,500 from the ASPCA to help with associated costs.
