Check out the Third Street Garden in Downing Park “all spiffed up. Thank you to City of Newburgh crews and Leadership,” making a pleasant walk in the park.
“It’s so exciting to see the work from several City departments coming together to provide some much needed maintenance and care for our City’s public parks and green spaces! Currently they’re finishing up this year’s (hopefully this will be annually) Park Blitz at Downing Park!” Enthusiastic praise from Marianne Marichal.
Most happy birthday greetings to Sir Brian Denniston. I know you enjoyed the very happy returns of the day from your many friends. May this new birthday year bee filled with every blessing in health, friendship, and happiness, dear Sir Brian. Happy Birthday!

Advice from Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh: Outfitting a dorm room? Skip the big-box store where everyone else is shopping. The Habitat Newburgh ReStore is stocked with decor at prices that leave room in the budget for actual textbooks.
The only thing better than the prices is that every purchase supports their mission to build affordable homes with local families. It’s a win-win!
Shop online and pick up in-store or stop by at 38 South Plank Road and see what else might be just what you’re looking for. They’re open Tuesday through Saturday. “Come see what’s in store.”
Newburgh Free Library is launching a Bike Borrow Program! Through this initiative, library cardholders can borrow a bicycle just like checking out a book.
The program is part of a broader effort led by the New York State Department of Transportation’s Statewide Mobility Services (SMS) Program 511NY Rideshare to expand access to safe, affordable, and sustainable transportation options across New York State.
The program is made possible through a partnership with the Long Island Bicycle Co-Op, which refurbishes donated bicycles and redistributes them to community-based programs across New York State, helping to expand equitable access to cycling. Our bikes will be maintained by Bikeway Bicycle Superstore.
How It Works: Any adult (18+) with a Newburgh Free Library card in good standing can borrow a bike from the library. Bikes can be borrowed for day use, with extended borrowing available based on demand.
Riders are asked to return bikes within the designated loan period and must sign a waiver and user agreement prior to borrowing.
Fill out the Google form to set up a pick up time. Bicycles will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The library will loan ONLY bicycles. We do not provide helmets or bike racks.

September, my favorite month, meant pencils and notebooks, crayons and corduroy…crisp coziness and new starts.
As always, I close with my prayers for God’s blessings o your heads, my dears.
