River Swim returns Saturday

The Annual Great Newburgh to Beacon Swim returns to the area on Saturday, August 5. Swimmers will meet at Unico Park at 70 Front Street in Newburgh. The swim will begin from the Newburgh Riverfront Marina to the Beacon Institute Dock on the other side of the Hudson River.

Back in 2022, the River Pool organization successfully raised $40,000 in donations that went towards the River Pool for work and maintenance. The pool is mainly funded by the donations and sponsorships support from this large event each year. The River Pool is a circular floating pool located off the north shore of Pete and Toshi Seeger Riverfront Park in Beacon, where families can enjoy a relaxing dip in the waters of the river.

The swim is still seeking volunteer kayak escorts which do not require a fee. The River Swim is set for Saturday with a rain date of Sunday, August 6. More information can be found at riverpool.org/about-river-swim/.
