Justin Saravia scored three goals to lead Newburgh Free Academy to a 5-0 victory over Middletown on Sept. 23, keeping the Goldbacks perfect at 5-0.

Saravia, a senior forward, scored three times as Newburgh’s senior-heavy defense limited the Middies’ scoring opportunities.

Piero Altamirano added a goal and an assist, while Ian Enamorado-Garcia also scored. Kevin Meza and Santiago Bastidas-Brecht each recorded an assist.

Newburgh’s Giovani Sanchez and Ryan Salony shared the shutout in goal. Sanchez made one save before Salony took over and stopped two shots.

The Goldbacks have won six of their last seven road games.
