On July 23, at about 1:33 a.m., City of Newburgh Police Officers received a Shotspotter activation in the area of 79 Liberty Street for five rounds and a second Shotspotter activation less than a minute later in the area of 90 Washington Street for four rounds. Officers located nine expended shell casings in the area of 77 Liberty Street. A 28-year-old male Newburgh resident was shot in the ankle and sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Police are looking for any witnesses who may been in the area at the time of this incident. Anyone with any information is asked to call the City of Newburgh Police Department at 845-569-7509.
