The New Windsor Planning Board welcomed back on Wednesday, July 10 a hotel project proposed along Silver Stream Road. The planning board declared itself lead agency on the project after discussion.

David Niemotko of David Niemotko Architect PC from Monroe, NY explained to the board the hotel would be built on a 2.3 acre site and would be three stories, 13,000 square feet per floor. Sixteen parking spaces are set to remain and lighting and landscaping have been provided for review.

The site is located within the town’s limited commercial zoning district and the use of this site is regulated by special use permit which would require a public hearing. The planning board had previously approved to circulate the project for lead agency at its first appearance back in March.

Comments from MHE Engineering note 1.9 acres of disturbance, requiring a stormwater pollution prevention plan, size and type of pipe for proposed water connections, the applicant would need to review the traffic conditions within the area and tree clearing would need to be identified on the site. A 21- comment memo would need to be addressed by the applicant.
