Solar Farm project presents before New Windsor Planning Board

Posted

Arden Consulting Engineers appeared before the New Windsor Planning Board with a Solar Farm site plan for the boards review along with a request for a special use permit and lot line change.

The site for the proposed solar farm is 108 Windsor Highway, also known as New York State Route 32, in the Town of New Windsor. Adjacent to the site is the United Rentals facility, residential units on Snake Hill Road and Reis Group Insurance.

Board member concerns discussed the placement of the panels that may cause issues for the travelers along Route 32.

Representatives of the applicant stated to the board that the solar panels are anti-reflective due to a special coating on the panels and are stationary.

The planning board approved circulating the site plans and lot line change application to the Orange County Planning Department. The board waived a public hearing for the lot line change.
