St. George’s Church to host Fish Fry

Catherine Costello at St. George’s Episcopal Church announced the congregation’s invitation to the community to its Annual Fish Fry To-Go dinner on Friday, March 22 from 4 - 6 p.m. at the Parish Hall, 105 Grand St. The fish dinners offer Haddock at $25 and Snapper at $30. The meal includes macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, dessert and beverage. This year there is a gluten-free option, as well.

To order dinner or to learn more about the gluten-free meal, text (845) 249-8343. You may also call the church office at (845) 561-5355. It is recommended that orders be placed in advance as all dinners will be available while suppers last.

In addition to the Fish Fry To-Go meal, on that Friday, you may purchase a St. George’s Episcopal Church canvas tote bag for $20. Further, the jigsaw puzzle of the stained glass window in the church’s sacristy will be available for $25. With the purchase of the 200 piece jigsaw puzzle, the canvas tote bag is free.
St. George’s parishioners are looking forward to welcoming the greater Newburgh community with a warm and friendly greeting, a hot and tasty meal to go, and some cool and interesting items for purchase at the fish fry to-go dinner on March 22.

Bill Fetter, President of the Newburgh Rowing Club (NRC), announced that on Saturday, March 16 at 10 a.m. at Ward Brothers Park on the river, the Club will hold an Open House at the boathouse for children and adults interested in rowing on the Hudson.

In addition, the NRC is currently accepting applications for adults and children interested in learning or continuing to participate in various rowing programs throughout the year. Contact William.fetter@verizon.net for more information.

For Your Calendar: Longer days and warmer weather are a signs that Spring is on the horizon and the time when Safe Harbors gets busy preparing for a full season of fun and creativity on Safe Harbors Green. To get the season started, join them at their Annual Newburgh Community Cleanup, which kicks off a city-wide effort to keep Newburgh clean and green all year long.

Suzanne Dawes invites you to Back Door Books at the Newburgh Free Library on Saturday, March 16, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Choose from the thousands of well sorted books in all categories. They are taking donations again so are bursting at the seams with new inventory! Parents, teachers and homeschoolers, our children’s section is overflowing with wonderful books for pre-school through teens, many in new or like-new condition.

Operated by the Friends of the Newburgh Library, this sale by donation book shop is located behind the Newburgh Free Library on Montgomery Street. Farina Memorial Post 386, Communion Breakfast will be held on Sunday, April 14 at the Temple Hill Tavern at 10 a.m. following the 8:30 a.m. Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church.
