As a long-time resident of the Town of New Windsor, I am writing to express my support for Joe Cocchiara for the position of New Windsor Town Council member.

The cost of living is soaring and, in a time of financial stress and uncertainly, we need elected officials who have experience with taxes, budgets, contracts, and the ability to rise above party politics and put constituents needs first.

Joe, a graduate of Pace University, has recently retired from a successful career working for diverse corporate entities, including major manufacturing, industrial, and defense corporations such as Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, Boeing Aircraft, and Philips Electronics. Joe’s corporate experience equips him to view Town issues from an unbiased perspective, and vote on issues before the Town with an eye toward achieving the best results for town residents, not what is best for the current Town hierarchy.

As an example of Joe’s concern for town residents, he has served on the Town of New Windsor Tax Assessment Board since April 2021, an entity that reviews town residents’ issues, complaints, and appeals focused on local tax questions.
