In a ceremony during the regular town board meeting on December 11, the Town of Newburgh expressed its appreciation for three individuals who have dedicated thirty years of their lives to the Town of Newburgh Police Department.

Dispatcher Melissa Cross, Lt. Dennis Carpenter and Lt. Pete Talarico were each presented with plaques commemorating their three decades of service. The ceremony was attended by Chief of Police Bruce Campbell, who commended the exemplary commitment of the honorees.

Adding a special touch to the event, Sheriff Paul Arteta bestowed a thirty-year service achievement upon Lt. Pete Talarico, noting that Talarico’s father had served as an Orange County Sheriff Deputy.

The presentation of plaques was conducted by Town of Newburgh Supervisor Gil Piaquadio, with Council Members Scott Manley and Anthony LoBiondo also in attendance.

Piaquadio took a moment to express gratitude on behalf of the town, thanking Cross, Carpenter, and Talarico for their enduring commitment to public safety.
