Town of Newburgh Recreation & AARP presents an AARP Defensive Driving Course on Tuesday, April 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Fees for AARP members $25; Non-members $30. Make checks made payable to AARP.

Please arrive at the Rec. Center by 8:45 a.m. This is a DMV mandated class and there will be no admittance after 9 a.m. Must bring AARP card for your discount, Drivers’ License, Lunch (there will be a ½ hour break for lunch), All other materials will be provided. Certificates will be mailed to you upon class completion. Town of Newburgh Rec. Dept., 311 Rt. 32 Newburgh. Phone 845-564-7815.

As part of the Adult Faith Formation and Activities of Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta Parish and St. Patrick’s, St Mary’s and Our Lady of the Lake Parish, a Bereavement Support Group continues every Wednesday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and will continue every week for a total of eight sessions in the chapel* at Sacred Heart Church, 25 Robinson Avenue, Newburgh.

Individuals who are grieving the loss of a loved one are invited to attend. Town of Newburgh Recreation Dept.- Chadwick Lake Park, 311 Rt. 32, Newburgh, invites you to join them at a Senior Social Tea Party on Saturday, May 10, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wear your prettiest hat and spend the afternoon chatting with friends.

Golden Age is an opportunity to socialize with fellow citizens, play some bingo, and partake in snacks and refreshments. There are also occasional special guest speakers and holiday parties!
