The Newburgh Town Board approved a proposal with Creighton Manning Engineering related to traffic and design services for the Route 300/Route 52 intersection on Monday, July 22. In a letter to the town, the firm identified several planning board projects would lead to an increase in traffic at the intersection. The project known as Newburgh Chicken, the present Dairy Queen, currently sits adjacent to the intersection.

The proposed scope of work would cost of $19,000. As part of the Scope of Services, Creighton Manning will collect traffic data and estimate future traffic volume. This will include existing and future projects in the collection. An intersection analysis of existing and future conditions would also be conducted and completed. With design services, the firm would prepare a conceptual plan for intersection improvements. Cost estimates for improvements would also be provided as the work progresses. The traffic analysis can be completed in three weeks while the survey would take four weeks followed by four for preliminary design and cost estimates.
