William A. Celli

Posted

He was 83 years young, born on January 25, 1938, in the Bronx, NY, to Anthony Celli and Louise Mongiello Celli. William proudly and honorably served his Country on active duty as a United States Marine from April 29, 1957, to April 28, 1961.  He was stationed in California and Japan during his years of service. Thereafter, William was blessed with three children who survive him: Michael Celli of Nyack, NY, Susan Celli of San Francisco Bay Area, CA, and Christopher Celli of Newburgh. Before retiring, William worked for many years as a computer programmer at IBM in East Fishkill.

William was a devout Catholic, a man of strong Faith and willing sacrifice to serve others. He was an avid reader and passionate about art, particularly his sketch work, which he would enjoy doing near his residence along the banks of the Hudson River. He was a humble man, but he was not shy or humble about his love of baked, stuffed shells - the one dish that could always make him smile.

William A. Celli will be laid to rest among his fellow US Military Veterans at the Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in a private ceremony in Goshen, NY. Donations in his Honor may be made to Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org and by taking your time to thank those who have served.

“Until we meet again... love you, Dad. “
