The Friends of the Marlboro Library will be holding their fourth annual tea party fundraiser at Dubois Farms in Highland, on Saturday, May 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Enjoy the charms of a bygone era and join us for tea, light refreshments, music, raffles, and conversation. A ticket to this event makes a wonderful Mother’s Day gift! Proceeds will go to future Library programs. Tickets for the tea are twenty-five dollars each and are available for purchase at the circulation desk. Fancy hats are encouraged, come wearing one, or make one at our special craft table at the tea!
Join the Friends of the Marlboro Library on Tuesday, May 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the Marlboro Library community room for a special craft fundraiser in preparation for their upcoming Tea Party!
Registrants will receive a straw hat which can be embellished with provided ribbons, flowers and more!
In-person registration for this craft is required at the library and is $10 per person. Hats are limited, so reserve your space today!
Show off your creation at the Friend’s tea party on Saturday, May 14! Tea Party tickets are also available at the circulation desk. (It is not necessary to attend the tea to make a hat).

Join us on Thursday, May 5 at 7 p.m. at the Marlboro Library as local resident, Linda Freeman, reads from her full-length poetry collection, The Family Plot. This reading will be followed by a Q & A and book signing. Attendees will also have the chance to share some of their own poetry if interested. Registration is required. Register online at marlborolibrary.org.

The Friends of the Marlboro Free Library Book Barn will reopen for the season with a special outdoor sale on Saturday, May 7, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Tables of books will be set up outside and tickets for the Friends upcoming Tea Party will be raffled at the event! The Friends will also be accepting gently used book donations in good condition during the sale.
Located next to the library’s north parking lot, the Book Barn is open every first and third Saturday of the month through October from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. (weather permitting). Quality hardcover books and DVDs donated to the library are available for reduced sale. The Friends of the Marlboro Free Library are volunteers who raise funds for the library. Those who would like to donate their time for the Book Barn should call the library at 845-236-7272 or message Friends of the Marlboro Free Library on Facebook.
In the event of inclement weather, the reopening sale will be postponed to the next regularly scheduled Book Barn date, Saturday, May 21, same time.

Help for Ukraine
Many people want to help the Ukrainians but are unsure of how to go about it. On Wednesday, May 4, Marlborough resident BJ Mikkelsen will be the guest speaker for Community Connections. His self-appointed mission is to raise money that will pay for food and supplies to be distributed directly to the needy. Hear how he accomplishes this direct aid, and how you can help as well.
The Google Meet will be 7 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4. Register to get the link at mdc-ny.com or by email democrats@mdc-ny.com. The link will be sent on the evening of the event. Call 845 235-6862 for more information.

Thank you to our Highway Dept. with the help of Lenny Scaturro for all the work they have been doing with the Towns renovation project at TOMVAC. Not only are they incredibly talented but they are saving taxpayers thousands of dollars.
