Hilda Manganello, 80, of Plattekill, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2020 at Hudson Valley Rehabilitation of Highland.
Born August 22, 1939 in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Petra (Olmo) Santiago.
Hilda Santiago married Steve Manganello on December 2, 1989 at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Plattekill, New York. They had over 30 happy years together before her passing.
Steve and Hilda loved to travel. They visited Italy twice, the Bahamas and Puerto Rico. They had an RV and traveled all over the United States, especially for extended stays in Florida. Hilda’s absolute favorite place to go was Rhode Island, where they would eat lots of lobsters. She also enjoyed bowling.
Hilda worked as a Tax Collector for the Town of Plattekill until her retirement in 2006.
She is survived by her beloved husband,Steve Manganello; her sister, Helga Arce of Staten Island, NY; and her brother, Daniel Santiago of Brooklyn, NY.
