Kathleen M. Ward of Highland, and formerly of Marlboro,passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023 after a courageous battle with Dementia. She was 84 years old.
Kathleen was born on January 14, 1939 in Newburgh, NY to Paul and Julia (Bardin) Visconti.
She married the love of her life James F. Ward on June 30, 1957. Kathleen was a graduate of Marlboro High School and worked for the Marlboro Central School District for twenty five years.
Kathleen is survived by her son, Paul T. Ward and his wife Jenny of Poughkeepsie and son David P. Ward and his wife Lisa of Marlboro, grandsons, Dr. Zachary D. Ward of Troy, Joshua M. Ward of Marlboro, granddaughter Shea of Poughkeepsie, great grandson Gavin Ward of Chula Vista, CA and her brother James V. Visconti of Marlboro and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband James F. Ward, Sr., her daughter Carolyn Ward, son James F. Ward, Jr., grandson Shaun C. Ward and brother John P. Visconti.
Kathleen loved spending time reading and socializing with her friends and family especially her grandchildren. She was a member of the Balmville Grange for years until it closed. She enjoyed crocheting and won a New York State Fair competition for best afghan which she donated to an auction to help raise money for arts and crafts programs in New York public schools.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 29th from 4-7pm at the DiDonato Funeral Home, 1290 Route 9W, Marlboro.
A mass of Christian burial will be offered on Saturday morning at 10am at St. Mary's Church, 1209 Route 9W, Marlboro to which family and friends are invited.
Burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh.
