Marlboro welcomes new student representatives

Posted

At the start of each school year, the Marlboro Board of Education invites several students to report to them about what is going on within the school body at large.

This year the school board meetings will always have two student reps, and a third student will be added to the rotation - Evan Wheatley, Gabriella Cortes and Harrison Solomon.

Cortes said a friend, who was a former student representative, influenced her to consider taking on the role.

“She told me I’d be really good for this position, especially because I am very passionate about changing the school for the better,” Cortes said.

Wheatley said the opportunity spoke to him.

“Something inside of me told me to take the chance. I never really saw myself in a position like this, but I am looking forward to it,” he said.
