OC hosts Veteran’s picnic

Area veterans and active military members were treated to a day in the park on Saturday as Orange County and its Veteran’s Service Agency hosted its annual Spring Picnic and Resource Fair at the Thomas Bull Memorial Park Picnic area.

“The annual Veterans Spring Picnic is a great opportunity to show our local military members our gratitude for their service and sacrifice,” said Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus, a Naval reservist who just returned from a deployment.

Rolling Thunder prepared the food, while Gold Star Mothers helped serve.

“The annual picnic and resource fair offers a fun and relaxing way for local veterans and their families to learn about what services and benefits are available to them from County agencies and other organizations,” Veterans Service Agency Director Christian Farrell said.

“The picnic allows them to spend time with their families and other veterans and service members in a warm and welcoming environment.”
