Rosemarie Lena Floor, Rosie, passed away peacefully at home on March 24, 2023, surrounded by family and friends. Rosie went to be with her Lord at the age of 87 years. She was born in Brooklyn on Mary 17, 1935, to Lawrence and Flora Florio. She attended New Utrecht High School and married her high school sweetheart, Edward, in 1954. Together they moved from Brooklyn to Marlboro and started their loving family. Rosie enjoyed cooking, puzzles, friendly games of cards, sitting in the sunshine, and spending time in her screen house. Most of all, she loved being a mother.
Now that Rosie has passed into the arms of our Lord, we should remind ourselves that while this is the end of Rosie's physical life on Earth, it is the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for her. Rosie joins her parents and husband of 64 years in heaven.
She is survived by many loving family members including her brother Ralph Florio and wife Jean, and her sister Mildred DeLauro. Her beautiful life will be forever cherished in the lives of her children: her daughters Elizabeth Winokur, Rosemarie Cook, and Lisa Truhn, and their respective spouses, Jay, James, and Eric, and her sons Peter Floor and Michael Floor and Michael's wife, Cindy. Rosie is also survived by her grandchildren Nathan Winokur and his wife Claudia, Adam Winokur, Daniel Winokur and his wife Tiana, David Winokur and his wife Lorena, Ksenya Rosas and her husband Justin, Jeffrey Tubbs, Dean Tubbs, Paula Hagen, Peter Floor and his wife Amy, and Tabitha St. Clair and her husband Grayson, and Erica Truhn. Rosie was blessed with fourteen great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Rosie will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home Inc., 38 Main Street, Highland, NY 12528, from 4 .-7 p.m. on Monday, March 27, 2023. Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church in Marlboro, NY at 10:30 a.m. on March 28, 2023. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Newburgh, NY immediately following Mass.
