Downing Park welcomes string quarter concert
The Musicians of the Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra will present a string quartet classical music concert, featuring Concert Master Adrienne Harmon, on Saturday, July 6, at 6 p.m. at the Amphitheater in Downing Park.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or chair and enjoy the music on the park lawn. The event is part of the 2024 Arts in the Park! series, supported by the City of Newburgh Public Art Works Program.
Arts in the Park! 2024 is funded by the Statewide Community Regrants Program, with backing from the New York State Council on the Arts and the New York State Legislature, and administered by Arts Mid-Hudson. Additional support comes from the Downing Park Conservancy, Chapman Steamer Arts, and individual donations.

Nancy Pullar Summer Concert Series continues in New Windsor

The Nancy Pullar Summer Concert Series continues every Wednesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on the lawn of New Windsor Town Hall at 555 Union Avenue. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
In case of rain, performances will be rescheduled for the following night.
The schedule is as follows:

• July 17: Ladies of the 80’s
• July 24: Lucky House
• July 31: Hi 5 Band
• August 7: Hurley Mountain Highway
• August 14: The Hype

New Windsor Offers Summer Sports Clinic for Young Children
The Town of New Windsor, in partnership with Skyhawks Sports Academy, is hosting a six-week summer sports clinic for young children. The program runs from July 11 to August 2 at Kristi Babcock Memorial Park, 660 Mount Airy Road.
Sessions are on Tuesdays:
• Ages 2-3: 5:00-5:45 p.m.
• Ages 4-5: 6:00-6:45 p.m.

The clinic focuses on balance, hand-eye coordination, fitness, and sports skills through age-appropriate games and activities. Parent participation is required.

Vails Gate Fire Department seeks volunteers
The Vails Gate Fire Department is seeking motivated volunteers to join its ranks, continuing more than 100 years of service to the New Windsor community.
Volunteers will receive free, paid training and can earn up to $2,250 upon completing state-required courses. Additionally, a tuition assistance program is available for members and their families.

CVFD to host food truck festival
The Cronomer Valley Food Truck Festival is set for Saturday, July 13, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 206 North Plank Road, Newburgh.
The festival will feature an array of food vendors, arts and crafts, and firematic demonstrations. Attendees can enjoy live music, participate in a 50/50 raffle, and enter for a chance to win various raffle prizes. An open house will also be held.

The event, which is free to enter and offers free parking, will proceed rain or shine. Proceeds will benefit the local fire department.
Organizers promise fun for all ages.

Newburgh Repair Café is July 13
The Newburgh Repair Café will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 13 at its new location, the Newburgh Free Library, 124 Grand Street.
The Repair Café concept, originating in Amsterdam in 2009, was introduced to New Paltz by volunteer organizer John Wackman in 2013. His efforts inspired similar events throughout the Hudson Valley and Catskills. The Repair Café of the Hudson Valley & Catskills, a consortium of program organizers, supports community repair events hosted by local organizations.

New Windsor to host Movies in the Park
The Town of New Windsor Recreation Department will host the Friday Night Flix Movies in the Park series this summer at Kristi Babcock Memorial Park, 660 Mt. Airy Road. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy movies on a huge screen, with refreshments available for purchase.
The schedule is as follows:
• July 26 at 8:30 p.m.: Wonka — A young chocolatier changes the world one bite at a time.

• August 16 at 8 p.m.: Million Miles Away — A biopic about José Hernández’s journey from farm worker to astronaut.

Farmers Market opens in New Windsor
Residents of New Windsor can now enjoy fresh produce and local crafts at the Town’s Farmers Market, open every Thursday until October 31.
Located at New Windsor Town Hall on 555 Union Ave, the market runs from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, offering a variety of fruits, vegetables, flowers, pies, bread, jams, and crafts.
